Our interest has always been in plants whether it be physically installing them, caring for them, maintaining them, or growing them. Since 1999 we've worked professionally in the green industry and have learned what homeowners and landscape companies expect when they purchase their plants from nurseries and garden centers. We have applied this experience and knowledge to our growing operation here at Highland Nursery to ensure that we grow plants that meet your buyers expectations. In 2013 we had our first official crop ready to offer. Since then we have been slowly expanding our line of plant material that we grow and sell throughout New England. Check out what we grow here.
Twenty five years prior to starting Highland Nursery, our neighbors and great friends Ted and Maggie Johnson took the dive and built their growing operation, Johnson's Northern Growers. Over the course of time Ted and Maggie installed crushed stone beds, wells, irrigation lines, roads, and built much of what the nursery is today. We have had the very fortunate opportunity to work alongside Ted and Maggie over a number of years learning the ins and outs. Today, Ted and Maggie play a vital role in helping us expand, learn, and encourage as we build our business. They are responsible for growing most of our fruit bearing plant specimens and container trees.
